A food camp was organized for 1500 poor families located in Marol and nearby slum areas in Mumbai on 26 April 2002. Food cooked for them was rice, dal, chapatis, sabzi, vegatable curry and for sweet dish there was gulab jamuns. The people and children who attended were from poor slum areas, some of them were living in the streets and some construction workers. People were happy with the food and there was plenty for all. Later foodgrain hampers were given to the women who came and toys to the children.
We got to see a lot of smiling and happy faces that day. These people who do not receive a decent meal, were happy to be served food generously and be treated well.
Sharing is enriching….
