Our first class was held on Sunday / 18th July’10. The rainy day did not dispel the enthusiasm of the 41 kids who attended the class. It started with a session conducted by Vignesh on basic greetings. The kids were guided on how to introduce themselves, followed by a small session on expressing feelings, later they were divided into groups – each group chose a topic & wrote sentences which they then presented to the class.

At present the class has been introduced for kids from Std 6 onwards. While the kids are being sponsored by us, they face a disadvantage of English language skills. We hope to give them a space to grow & become better. The class is designed to -

- help the kids become confident & be able to speak English more fluently

- aid them to communicate more effectively in a relaxed, friendly & encouraging environment

This batch had 31 kids belonging to the 14-16 age group, present at the seminar held at Kamino Mumbai premises.

A few highlights of the day ~

~ The kids surprised us with the symbols they chose to represent themselves & the way they related to it in the ’symbolizing oneself’ exercise.

~ Special individual attention was given to each child as they were guided through the ‘communication skills’ exercise. They were soon playing ‘facilitator’ and started pointing out the nuances of body language/tone/words to the other kids with glee, after their initial self consciousness !!

~ ‘Attitude comes from within’ was stressed on, through another exercise conducted to differentiate between skill & attitude.

~ Individual & team games were conducted to aid learning and for fun.

The enthusiasm of the kids set the tone for the day and it was a wonderful experience for all of us.

Held at Kamino Mumbai office for the kids sponsored by Project CARES in the 12-13 years age group.

The session was conducted by Vignesh and emphasis was given to communication skills, attitude & teamwork with the aid of various activities & games.

The whole hearted involvement of the kids & their high energy set the tone for the day. The kids are eagerly awaiting the next workshop!!

At Kamino International, our blood donation drives reflect our commitment to corporate social responsiblity which we believe is one of our core priorities.

We are proud to have 51 people participate in the blood donation drive organized at Kamino Mumbai office on 10th July 2009 conducted by Hinduja Hospital. There was a total of 45 donors.

Kudos to our Mumbai staff for their initiative, enthusiastic participation and support in aiding and creating awareness for this noble cause.

Discover Urjaa organized 2 clothes distribution drives for the kids of Project CARES at Janvi balwadi garden on 17th Jan’09 and 29th Mar’09.

The kids were thrilled to receive new clothes which were mostly jeans and T-shirts.

Discover Urjaa organized a children’s day party for Project Cares kids at St.Anthony’s Hall on 30th Nov’08. The kids were treated to a movie ‘Return of Hanuman’, a reptile show, lots of games, snacks & loads of fun. All the kids &  volunteers had a great time…

Discover Urjaa team organized a get-together for its Project Cares kids on Sunday – 13th July 2008 at St. Anthony’s Hall.

The kids were treated to ‘Bal Ganesh’ movie. It was a day enjoyed by all the kids & also the volunteers who helped out at the event.

75 people came forward and supported our cause of ‘Saving Life’..  These were Kamino Mumbai Staff, their families, friends, Kamino Customers & business associates – shipping lines, custom broker.  We had a total of 55 donors.
